Tanıtım:
Goku ormanda ufak bir kulübede, ölen büyük babası Son Gohan'dan
kalan dört yıldızlı Ejder Topu'yla yaşamaktadır. Bu Ejder Topu'nu, Goku,
büyük babası zannetmektedir. Bir gün bu ejder toplarını arayan Bulma adında
bir kız gelir ve Goku'ye Ejder Toplarının büyüsünü anlatır
"Yedi tane Ejder Topu varmış. Bunların içindeki yıldızlar sayesinde parıl parıl
parlıyorlarmış. Bir taneden yedi taneye kadar hepsini
toplarsan ve doğru
ilahiyi söylersen, Ejder Shenlong gelip senin herhangi bir isteğini yerine
getirirmiş. Ama yalnızca bir tanesini!!"
Bunun üzerine Goku ve Bulma bol aksiyon ve komedili uzun bir
maceraya atılırlar ve Ejder Toplarını aramaya başlarlar.
Son Goku karakteri, Çin Edebiyatı'nın en büyük edebi yapıtlarından
biri olan "Maymun Kral" ya da daha çok bilinen adı ile "Batıya Yolculuk"tan
Sun Wukong karakterinden alınmıştır. Zaten hikaye içinde
"Batıya Yolculuk"a güçlü referanslar vardır. Bulma karakteri,
Xuán Zàng'dan etkilenmiştir veya animede domuz olarak çizilen
Oolong karakteri "Batıya Yolculuk"da Zhu Bajiè karakterinden
etkilenmiştir.
